Shoulda Put A Bun On It

I said before that the Honey Bear has a penchant for making anything into a sandwich.  Steak, leftover chicken, spaghetti, anything.  If he could get soup to stay on the bun and not soak through, I bet he’d make that into a sandwich too.  To say it’s one of his favorite food groups would be an understatement.  The boys love sandwiches too.  But they are very specific.  Peanut butter & jelly rules their tummies.  Occasionally, they will eat a grilled cheese, or even a hot dog (you put in a bun right? It’s a sandwich then).  But pb&j is king around here.  Huggy loves to get the peanut butter out of the pantry.  I love seeing his short little 18 month size holding that big jar of peanut butter, waddling through the kitchen.  Trying his best to put the jar on the counter, but not quite reaching it.  He and Happy race to see who gets it first, so when I’m done with it, the other gets to take it back and put it away.

So, let’s elaborate on the spaghetti sandwich, shall we.  I had never thought of such a thing until I met the Bear.  We had run out of garlic bread, so we made garlic buns instead.  We took some hamburger buns, put some butter and minced garlic on it and suck it in the toaster oven for a few minutes.  He then takes his spaghetti and slaps it on the bun.  The best part is that, even if he has a roll, it becomes a slider.  Hollow it out and stuff spaghetti in there and voila!  A spaghetti slider!  I love when he does that.  It’s so him.  And anytime he mentions such a thing to people, they give him a strange look.

So, just to give your taste buds something to look forward to…

What do you put between two slices?
